Saturn HIE lets a defined network of healthcare organizations exchange clinical documents over FHIR R4, resolve patients across their systems with a master patient index, enforce each patient's consent on every read, and receive ADT event notifications. Every access is logged. Saturn is not a TEFCA participant and is not connected to CommonWell or Carequality; it is the exchange you run for the partners you choose.
Each participant gets a profile, endpoints, API credentials and an agreement on file before any exchange. A participant can be suspended at any time.
Patient consent directives with allow/deny, date windows, and exclusions by document type and organization. Consent is checked on every read, not only at enrollment.
The master patient index links each organization's record to one identity, with a review queue for possible duplicates and an unmerge path.
Clinical documents are shared as FHIR R4 resources between the organizations the consent allows, and viewed in the clinical viewer.
ADT events reach subscribed partners; every read, write and consent decision is written to the audit log and reported.
An iCare patient can be resolved against the Saturn index and their documents shared under consent through the iCare bridge.
